Alaska Airlines has today made a slew of passenger experience announcements , which I’m covering across several posts. The theme is simple, and it includes focusing on the premium experience (as is the standard in the industry nowadays).

In this post, I’d like to cover how Alaska plans to introduce a new two-part lounge at Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA), which will be the carrier’s biggest and most premium lounge to date. We’ve known this was coming, but more details have just been unveiled.

This comes as Alaska is undergoing a global expansion, as the airline is increasingly operating long haul service out of Seattle, with the plan being to operate 12 long haul routes by 2030. Separately, I’ve covered details about the new premium economy cabin , Alaska’s new premium 737 MAX 10s , Hawaiian’s A330 retrofits , and the new Hawaiian Lounge Honolulu .

Alaska Airlines plans to open a new lounge in Seattle in late 2027, located in the newly refreshed Concourse C. The airline views this as a key part of its broader investment in the global passenger experience.

The lounge will be roughly 41,000 square feet, with approximately 700 seats across two levels. The idea is that the two levels will have different entry requirements:

Alaska is leaning heavily into the “Aurora” branding, as its long haul business class product is being branded as Aurora Suites, so the Aurora Lounge branding also makes sense.

This overall lounge complex will be the largest lounge at the airport, and among the largest in the country. It will also offer views of the Olympic Mountains and the airfield below. The lounge complex is expected to feature an outdoor patio with fireplace, and private work pods. In terms of food and beverage offerings, expect seasonal menus, a pizza oven, a coffee lab, and fresh pastries. The lounge will also have multiple bars, serving cocktails, wine, and beer.

A huge new Alaska Lounge is of course great, but what’s especially exciting here is the introduction of the Aurora Lounge, as it’ll be the first time that the airline offers something elevated like that.
